FOR BREAKFAST NARDIS

London band For Breakfast have been bubbling under the radar since 2015; undergoing a series of name and lineup changes before settling into their current configuration in late 2018. With a thirst for experimentation and a rich and varied palette of influences, last year's 'Undercurrent' touched on spiky post-punk, folky psychedelia and spectral post-rock, whilst new offering 'Nardis' is the band's bold interpretation of Miles Davis' 1958 classic jazz piece. Reimagined with a brooding bass line, surfy-sounding guitar lines and atmospheric flutes, rumbling toms writhe beneath singer Maya's spoken vocals, which are few and far between. 'Nardis' is the first track to be lifted from For Breakfast's forthcoming debut EP Songs in the Key of O - you can pre-order it here now. -Holly Mullineaux
